ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN DOWNTOWN LEONARDTOWN. MARYLAND
Let me tell you about Jessi and Seth.
When they first inquired with me, Jessi told me that her wedding date was flexible sometime in October 2024. Little did I know that their date was flexible dependent on MY availability in October 2024. They moved their whole original wedding date just so I could be their photographer! That is actually the most flattering thing you could ever ask for as a wedding vendor. Jessi + Seth’s engagement session was so sweet and it is always so awesome to see how couples slowly warm up to the camera throughout the session.
We started off in downtown Leonardtown to do some photos in town while we waited for the sun to set a little more. I love using the buildings around town to create different backdrops and hide the sun a little if needed. It was also October when we did the session so all of the foliage was bright orange. Orange is Jessi’s favorite color so I was sure to include some of the leaves in the images.
After walking around the square, we ventured down the hill to the wharf. Which if you are a local to Southern Maryland, you definitely know what the Leonardtown Wharf is. Surprisingly it wasn’t that busy and people were very courteous and happy to see us taking photos. I feel like because the wharf is such a popular area, for obvious reasons, it’s beautiful! But I want to make sure when I photograph people there, it’s not just “another” photo at the wharf. I want to incorporate the gorgeous west-facing park, the beautiful blooms, and golden sunshine to my advantage.
Also, huge props to Jessi + Seth for styling their own outfits. They absolutely knocked it out of the park!!
Fun fact: Seth is a shoe collector and actually has his own shoe company!!
