Bridal Portraits at The Estate at River Run in Maidens, Virginia

What better way to take advantage of your hair and makeup trials than to schedule portraits in your wedding dress for the same day?

All of my wedding packages come with a complimentary engagement session but because Caitlin and her - now - husband George live in London, the timing didn’t work out to get them an engagement session before their wedding.

So, when Caitlin reached out and said she would like to do bridal portraits in her dress on the same day as her hair and makeup trial I obviously was stoked!

Having time with your photographer before your wedding is extremely helpful because by the time your big day comes around, we already know each other and I’m not some stranger spending your entire wedding day with you.  

Caitling reserved The Estate at River Run in Maidens, Virginia to hold her portrait session at and let me tell you! The most beautiful, exquisite structure I have ever been in. I got their early to location scout and I didn’t even get through the whole venue in 30 minutes. From the undergound rustic wine cellar, to the exterior patio overlooking small mountains at sunset, and the intricate details in every room, this was a total dream to photograph.

And did I mention the bathrooms?? Oh my, they were gorgeous, and each room had its own soaking tub. A DREAM!

Caitlin and I started in the foyer and taking photos on the massive grand staircase and finding areas indoors to take photos while we waited for sunset to go outside. We had such a good time coming up with different photos to showcase the stunning bride she was.

When we finally went outside for sunset photos, our jaws dropped! The golden hour light was so perfect. We enjoyed taking photos on the balcony, by the pool, walkways, and even alongside the greenery. Caitlin’s blusher + veil was the perfect touch to get creative with photos.

Did I mention that Caitlin’s dress is completely customized and redesigned? She purchased her couture gown from Mirror Mirror Bridal Couture boutique in London and altered by Cherry Blossom Bridal Couture. Her gown is an exquisite masterpiece!
