WHAT IS A SENIOR AMBASSADOR PROGRAM?
Let’s get right to it. A senior ambassador program, well, MY senior ambassador program looks like this.
A senior ambassador team is a group of high school seniors that serve as spokesmodels for K Nicole Photography’s senior portrait services. We have four group shoots over the duration of the program where the ambassadors spend the early afternoon getting glammed up with hair and makeup, loads of iced coffee, snacks, and good music before we head off to the shoot location. If the shoot is outside, we ALWAYS aim for an hour or two before sunset to catch that dreamy golden hour light.
The shoot lasts for an hour or two where we get a mix of group and individual images. That evening I’ll edit a handful of photos to send sneak peeks to the team before I deliver the final gallery a couple weeks later. Galleries typical consist of 75-150 images and all ambassadors and their families have the ability to download as many images as they’d like and the option to purchase professional prints, too.
How the senior ambassador program came to be
It all started in March of 2022 when my, now friend, Angela volunteered to model for me after I had purchased a new camera lens and wanted to test it out. We hit it off immediately. Her positive attitude and immediate willingness to support another female business owner was so refreshing to me.
I had been thinking about starting an ambassador program for high school seniors for a few weeks before meeting her but knew I needed to know more people in the area first. But I wanted to do it differently. If I was going to do this, I was going to go all out and really make this program something special. I didn’t have the opportunity to participate in a program like this when I was in high school, let alone the ability to afford a portrait session. Especially with how prevalent social media is in your life as a high schooler, I want to help teens have positive interactions with social media. I was in high school when instagram, snapchat, and vine (rest in peace) were created and exploded. ANd let me tell ya, social media as a high schooler could be very negative and I’m sure still is.
At the end of our photo shoot, Angela mentioned that she is a hair and makeup artist. I decided to shoot my shot and see if she’d be interested in doing an ambassador program. We met for coffee a week later to discuss details and the rest was history! Literally a week after that I had applications open and we somehow managed to get four girls to apply and all four joined the team! That was all I needed and my exact goal. I knew four girls from four high schools would help me slowly gain traction over the Southern Maryland area to help other high school students learn about my senior portrait sessions!
And here we are, about to start the second year of the ambassador program with five students in the class of 2024! We have so many great ideas planned, so many lessons learned from the first year, and I can’t wait to share what we have up our sleeves.
How long does the program last?
The senior ambassador program typically runs from April of your junior year of high school through May of your Senior year.
What are the benefits of being a KNP Senior Ambassador?
By the time you graduate, you will have over 400 photos at your disposal that document your senior year.
You’ll make new friends from all over the area and get to see some amazing boss babes in action!
Become comfortable working with a professional photographer.
Ambassadors can refer their friends to K Nicole Photography to earn a refund on their session fee! For every referral they send my way, they receive $50 credited to their account. If they pay off their session fee, then they earn $50 cash for each referral beyond that!
Most importantly, you grow in self love and confidence throughout your time as an ambassador.
What does it cost?
Ambassadors only have to pay their portrait session fee! As of March 2023, the portrait session fee is $600. This is the only fee you will have to pay during your time as a senior ambassador.
What do ambassadors have to do?
Senior Ambassadors have to be comfortable promoting a business online and in person. I put so much thought, planning, and work behind the scenes to make sure this program is an amazing experience for everyone that all I ask from you is to help share about my business. I want you to be in love with the final images produced and WANT to tell the whole world about it!
What do you look for when selecting ambassadors?
K Nicole Photography wants upcoming high school seniors that are involved in their schools and communities, active on social media, and willing to contribute to an uplifting and positive environment for everyone.
What is included in a senior portrait session?
The senior portrait session that comes with being an ambassador is my Luxe portrait package which includes:
up to a 2 hour session
Professional hair + makeup styling
Unlimited outfit changes
2 locations
Online digital gallery of at least 75 edited images with light retouching
The option to purchase professional quality prints from my print shop
How does payment work?
All communication and transactions are completed through my client management software, Honeybook. There, you will view your invoice, contract, and payment information where you can make payments via bank transfer or credit/debit card.
Will you tag me on social media?
Yes! A lot, haha. Any time I share a photo of you, you can expect to be tagged. And I want you to tag me, too!
Do I need a public instagram account?
Nope. My personal instagram account is set to private, so I understand if you don’t want the whole world to see your photos.
How do I schedule my individual senior portrait session?
That is also done through honeybook! As soon as we get you officially signed up as an ambassador, you’ll get first dibs on my calendar where you can self schedule your session.
Who is eligible to be an ambassador?
Any upcoming high school senior willing to come to Southern Maryland for their session and all group shoots. Applications open in the winter (Jan/Feb) of your junior year, so keep an eye out right after the holiday break for me to start posting about upcoming applications on social media.
What senior portrait packages do you offer for students who aren’t ambassadors?
There are two packages to choose from. The Luxe package is the same package that my ambassadors get for their solo sesh!
